September Coho?

Planning a September trip with friend from out of town.(only time he can get out this year)

where would you guys go? Bamfield-Barkley or Nootka.
I am in my own rig of course.

Port Renfrew in early sept has some of the biggest coho around and the fish can be rite in the bay.

Most years Area G has an opening that starts up near the beginning of September. Through that opening, we are allowed to retain "marked" coho. Some of the largest coho I have ever seen have been caught in those fisheries, and the numbers, at times, are simply unbelievable!

Did a few runs into September last year specifically to target on coho. The action was Fast & Furious, and the fish were rather large, including one that went just over 26 POUNDS</u>!

The where? Based out of Ukee. The fish could be found anywhere from right on the beach, throughout the various Banks all the way out to the outside edge of the Big Bank.

GREAT time of year for these feisty fighters! Methinks you're in for some FUN!
Don't forget your surface rods! They'll contribute half or better of the action

did pretty well off the backside of Cree isl. in the sound a couple years ago, ran into a few nice springs too. It was late august, Renfrew can also be as good as anywhere...good luck!

If you want beauty Coho in September, Hardy is where you want to be. The Northern Coho that are in the area in September and unreal, pushing 20+, hella lot of fun.

Can I add just one thing? Coho fishing off the "whole" Vancouver Island has been good "all" over that last couple of years! If I was to target them, I second "IronNoggin"..."UCLUELET"!

Yeah, anywhere WCVI is great Coho fishing then. Last year we were lighting it up in 10 feet of water! Port Renfrew has the advantage of being the easiest to get to, and a sheltered bay to fish in. Later the better for coho's. And in my experience, if you weed through the feeders off East Point and the Can bouy, you can still find the odd decent spring to boot.
