Scotty puller for hali rode

Well I’m sitting around waiting for my pod to be installed I got to thinking..
I use a 1000 feet of rode on my hali system, it’s Commercial prawn line...I try to anchor in no more than 300 or so ft. Once the anchor is up has anyone used a Scotty trap puller or something similar to reel in the rode. Is it fast enough . Would it work with commercial Prrawn line. I thought I remember reading something about it on
here but I can’t find itB5964BD1-4101-4718-BE3F-BFACD1FC142F.png pic for attention

we tried it once but the anchor was good and stuck in bad seas and it almost tore the puller right off the boat. ended up cleating the line off and drifting over the anchor and luckily the anchor snapped halfway up the shaft. but it was doable before all the shenanigans

Thank you for the reply but in this case the anchor would be at the surface held up by the Scotsman.

You still have to lay the rope into your tub and even if it was faster you would have to stop to catch up to it. I would just cut down how much rope you are using...I use 600 ft max for deeper water...you aren't anchoring overnight....even if it drags a tiny bit it's not a big deal.

Ya I think your right 1000 ft way to long and a bit dangerous by the look of it. Seems like the line is only 10 feet deep for the first 100 feet or more due to the scope. Guess I had better measure it again for the 10th time

Use a big scotch man to lift the anchor then the Scotty or ace hauler to coil it in the boat. Hands free does a great job
