Scotty Line Hauler

I want one, looks more compact then the Ace ........... tough to beat the Ace boyz though for the way they treat people (their Customers ... they are great on problems ... if ya have any with the Ace, few and far between)

What will the price be ? any idea ?

I have a BRUTUS shive line puller and am not at all impressed with it. Not powerful enough for my use .
So i,m interested in how this will do.
seems like a pretty small capstan but the speed may make up for it.

It does look like it is based on the HP and they have had some growing pains with the HP’s. They have replaced some parts with beefed up improved versions when I have taken them in for service and they have been in for service more often than the reg. speed riggers.

I am a little concerned about the warranty on the puller as I recall it is only 2 years so you may not have the same protection as with the lifetime warranties on the similar HP riggers.

The warranty was the first thing I noticed too rockfish only 2 years. Price is around $450 (from island outfitters). They say it's an introductory price.

For the amount I would use it (2-3 days per year) I would want a lifetime warranty for my $500.00

also a draw back that i saw was it relative height to the rail your going to have to almost lean over to pull aboard the trap its not going to work well with 36" steel or bigger 48" re-bar crab traps ?
but the plus point is that is stores real easy and they supply the carry bag for it.
but my buddie has been using an anchor winch puller as a trap puller for some time and no probs
just had a swivel plate made up and then can haul up just about anything
i'll get some pics next time i see his boat

The ACE Line Hauler People are FANTASTIC !!! Even after years of use they PLEASE their customers. Yes I like the size of the Scotty, but SIZE IS NOT EVERY THING .... customer service is ! That said for Scotty to only put a two yr. warranty on this ....... hands down, still the ACE PRODUCT is the one to go with. Come on Scotty, give your head a shake !

for 549 plus a free bag do your self a favour, for the additional fifty bucks go with the ace line they are the best in the hauler dept. its like a car never buy it the first year

I do have to agree , I blew the gears or clutch on my Ace Brutus line puller. I took it back to Dave at highwater on lonsdale and they gave me a brand new one to use while they fixed the old one. Great service. They put a new motor on it and i got it back a few weeks later .... no charge.
Thats good service.

Been using the original Scotty puller conversion for over 10 years now. Purchased at a secret location near Duncan ;-)
Only problems over several hundred pulls has been 2 blown belts; and that happened when newbs kept pulling when traps were stuck.
I'll sell it, it perfect working condition, at half the price of a new one, and put the funds straight into a new one!
Also used the Ace etc, they are all fine, the Scotty is simply way easier to store and with the commonality of parts you can't go wrong.

Re the EZ Pull-- take note
*NOTICE*
We Ship ONLY To The Continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii

that safe-T-puller is sweet, It really does make all the other pullers looks like toys. You can get one of the pullers for ~$950 without the davit which would be easy to make. What does an ACE go for these days? $600-650. Really only another $300 for a hauler that can pull 200 pounds! This will be my next hauler!

I don't know much about other pullers, but I have used Ace for over 10 years. I've broken the boom off when snagged on the bottom, I've burnt out motors, broken switches and some other stuff that wasn't the fault of the puller. It has all been fixed, no charge. I went Ace today with a motor that didn't work. I actully took it apart to see if I could fix it. Ya right!! Dropped off a box full of peices, and they said come back in one hour and pick it up. NO CHARGE. A great Van Isle company to do business with.
Just my 2 cents but until someone can provide better service I won't switch. $500.00 dollars or $5000.00 dollars sooner or later it will break and who's going to look after you then.
