Would anybody have any info on Schooner cove marina ( good or bad . ) I have called them and it sounds like a pretty good outfit.
We are coming down from Rupert and should be in the Naniamo area on Sept 1st. Looking for a place to leave the boat for a month or two.
If anyone would have some info about moorage or storage in the Naniamo area. South or North I would be interested to hear from you.
Only thing is my trailer will still be up in Rupert if I was to store my boat. ( 30' OAL )
After seeing some of the pics from last years Chum derby. I was thinking about leaving the boat down there for it in Oct. How far from Naniamo would that be?
Any dates for the derby yet?

Don't know about the marina but I have stayed at the hotel there a few times. We enjoyed some nice days there by the pool with the kids. It was like a little piece of heaven between cold wet camping in Ukie and more camping at Cowichan. Great pub restaraunt. The view from the rooms we've had facing the water is very nice, looking out over the marina. The marina looks pretty well sheltered by a good rock breakwater. dog.

Hey R dog, the hotel and pub are closed but there is a little coffee shop that is now licensed. It is a good marina and has a fuel dock as well. Prawning is good and close and there might be a fish or two around. If you need any more info let me know

What BRS said its a nice marina. You can run up to the qualicums and fish out infront of the river until about october. The fishing can be good. If you moor at brownsbay its about a 2- 2.5 hour drive from nanaimo.

Hey thanks for the info guys. I think thats where I will tie up then. Seemed like a pretty reasonable rate there as well.
