Have been out to the narrows 3 times in the last couple of weeks, a few boats fishing but no salmon to be had. Lots of cod off Hueys reef and crabs in Cowichan Bay. Anyone been out there lately or to the Hatch Point area and had any luck?
we got a couple of lings and some rock cod. Lings were near hole in the wall and rock cod were at hueys. Will try in a day or 2 and post.Where were you at nedarb2?

Sansum Point boys.. You get a 45 minute window there when the tide starts pushing south, bounce baby octopus or live 12" herring down from 40 feet to 160. Was allways lingy for me. At least how I used to do it, otherwise that piece of water gets hit hard.
We trolled anchovie last Tuesday evening, and mooched Wednesday through the tide change in front of Bold Bluff and south into the area where the sail boat used to be, if you have any history.
When out yesterday and fished the last few hours of the ebb, trolling between Sansum point and Burial; nada. Jerk fished the first couple of hours of the flood off Hueys; nada. Well at least there were a few crabs in the traps in the bay to make the trip worthwhile.
out this morning picked up a nice hatchery doe on the ebb at Bold Bluff. Used a purple haze flasher and anchovy holder trolling at 120 ft. Lots of bait showing up on the sounder.
Hey Bigsbee
Good to hear you are out using the boat, I'm on the 5:30 out of here on tuesday hope to see ya out there, tried for a couple hours around tent last week when I was home but no luck not enough a sign of em. Any way talk to ya soon
esora, good to hear from you. Yeah been going out quite a bit, mostly the lakes on the weekends and the salt chuck during the week. Going to hit her hard next week as the son is on holidays so he wants to 'fill the freezer'. Will do the narrows again in a couple of days and will post how I did. Retirement is bloody marvelous!
fished the ebb this morning off the bluff and at hueys, no fish. Lots of bait and so many seals if I did hook a spring I probably would have lost it to one of those devils.
Out again this morning. Tried mooching off the Bluff but not a sniff. Scooted down to Hatch Point and picked up a nice spring trolling with a green hot spot and a glow white hoochie down 100 ft. Back to the bay to pick up the crab traps and the new round one was gone. Anyone else been having problems out there?
out yesterday off Huey's reef for the morning flood tide. Hooked a nice spring in 130 ft. of water with a pink jig. Lost it to a seal who grabbed it right by the boat. So the fish are there but are probably out numbered by the seals....
