Salt in the Wound: A missing anchor setup

YES thats what most of us dojust for that reason and to have a clip ready away from the main anchor line..

Never leave the anchor without a trailing scotchman, does not need to be as big but its safer picking up and reclipping to a line without the anchor stress on it. Also tells you dirrection of your drift when drifting, you can plan drifts better to work the bottom. I have had both go down, think east race, can be scary. Everyone should mark their anchor, name and number, I have personnaly returned 3 that were found drifting. Recieved nice bottle of wine for the return of one.

Saw that one but it's not mine. No name on it. Hope they get it back before it gets run over. Seemed to be in the line of fire of those bigguns.

NO NO NO NO NO. That was my prawn string. I was sitting on the edge of my seat all Sunday as I watched 4 guys anchor around it while I fished nearby, I was pretty worried that it was going to get it in someone's anchor and ruin a day. I'll stick to prawning on weekdays now, as a lot of guys now fish that little spot. The float does have my name on it, but it's somewhat worn out.

I was wondering about that little orange float! We were anchored more to the West and I was going to check it out after we pulled the pin to see if it was Dave's. Saw you recover it in the afternoon. One small hali for us for the day....

How is the prawning off the waterfront? Striped or spotted? Do use an anchor?
