rods

Mooching and downrigger rods are very much alike. Main difference being in lenghth. They generally both have medium action and reel seats can be iether set up for levelwind or single action. I run both. Personally I like the shorter rods, 8.5 foot as they are more boat friendly but I run 10.5 footers as well. The longer rods are generally refered to as "mooching" rods on the west coast. I should also mention that downrigger specific rods are generally glass or glass/grafite blanks. The glass has less memory which is better when the rod is always torqued over in a rigger.

I have a couple of 10.5 river rods, butts are a little longer and they have a finger hook, will they be fine, I prob. asked this before but?

prob won't see you this time. We wont be there til Wednesday but will be there for 3/4 weeks after. Look forward to meeting u.
