Replace a Panther fob with a Joystick?

Hi there,

I currently have a Panther T5 with a hard-wired fob. For the electrically aware types, how hard would it be to install a Left/Right controller at my rear helm? The motor already has key start, throttle control etc. The issue I am having is that the majority of my crew members are balking at the fob. I thought a joystick type of controller might work. The wire is there, I just need to cut the fob and add a controller (he says naively).

Any thoughts?

self centering 3 way toggle switch with a weather cover. Most parts stores have them and the covers are available same place or marine hardware stores.

Any of these should and will have a relay pack of some type. Just need a 3 position momentary switch of some type and trigger the 2 relays. The relays do the reverse polarity. 5 pin relays is really easy with a normally closed pin. Just trigger one relay at a time. The wires sit at ground normally. Pin 85 or 86 on a relay is the coil. Just need to figure out which one they are using. Have no idea what a Panther relay pack looks like.

I forgot the relay box. ! Thanks Ship, you the man

If that's what your relay pack looks like, then it's integrated. Which is fine. It's probly the blue and green wires.

Hard to say without stretching that harness out and looking at it closer
