Reinstalling Kicker Lower Unit

I need to put my kicker back together, I turned the propeller after I removed it. The kicker was and is
stuck in forward before I removed the lower unit. When I reinstall with the tiller in forward
do I rotate the propeller clockwise to fit the drive shaft into the proper location. I have never done
this and don't know if there are things I need to know?

You just have to ensure that both the tiller and gearcase are in same gear position then turn the prop shaft to line up the upper driveshaft splines with the coupler in the bottom of the crank. Grease the splines on the driveshaft...but not the flat top part on the very end. Make sure your water tube ends are lubes a bit to and line them up...I usually only tighten 1 bolt to the gear case and then fire up the motor on the hose to make sure I have the water tube in place...if it pumps and shifts..tighten the rest and put the prop on.

when reinstalling bottom end you should use a barrel not a flushing attachment as the water pressure from the hose will show water flow. By using a barrel you will see that the impeller is actually pumping. Don’t ask how I know this!
