Anyone here actually use real squid trolled in a teaser head or holder of some kind for bait?

The small squid variety...

I know some Americans used to when they fished up this way.....

I had never though about the squid is a bait.

Frozen seafood have some baby squids, Do you think they might be work for the springs?

I tried it last year using thawed 6" squid with a lighthouse lure LED double green flashing light. Worked very well but quite messing as you are constantly re-baiting. I have a video on his Facebook page with a ling I pulled up. www.lighthouselures.com.

Cheers, Rob

PS: I'm heading back to Nootka on Sunday with a small 16' Pricecraft.(Tuta Marina) You got me thinking to give it a try again... lol
PSS: Sold the 20' aluminium and waiting to get another. Hoping to hook up with someone to go out for Hali is winds are good. Not taking the 16' out for that.....

Speaking of Squid. I saw a young boy catch a 6" white squid off the wharf in Montigue Harbour last weekend. They were fishing bullheads and got it. Never seen that before. Thought they were deep water creatures.

Funny thing is one of the boys said " that would make a great squirt gun!" Lol

There is a species of squid up here that is quite small and can be caught off docks or bays at night using a a topside light for attractor......( I assume that's legal).

I was thinking one of these:-
