The Decision has been delivered, please read our message below.
It is now crystal clear that the Public fishery and every Canadian who relies upon it for their livelihood, or participates for social and economic benefit is in grave danger. A letter demonstrating cross-party support from 25 of 31 BC MPs, and the support of our Provincial Government, were not enough. Not enough to affect this decision, which was made by Minister Jordan, purely to support the political agenda of the Liberal Government. This was an East Coast decision with zero regard for the fabric of West Coast life. Prime Minister Trudeau repeatedly insisted that sound science, data and common sense would lead the way, but they have not prevailed over politically loaded policies, proving his words to be nothing more than fabrication. There is zero question that Canadians, members of the Public fishery and their right to the common property that is BC Salmon are not the concern of this government. This country is being forcefully divided by this government and the path we are headed down is not an inclusive one. It is time to step up and fight for a balanced approached that achieves conservation goals and finds socio economic values for all Canadians.
