Yeah I was going to say, this means nothing to property tax amounts anyway. Or in Vancouver where they're trying to convince us we're not paying more but they've raised the cost of every service and parking spot across the city. It's like they know... I mean think we're dumb or something.-3% on the townhouse. -4% on the house. -4% on work properties. The house still says it’s single storey and one bath but it’s 2 levels and 3 baths. I’m sure property taxes will still go up lol
Someone should be fired for thatI'm down 15% this year. Down a total of 31% since the high in 2023. Lantzville.
Up 34% WTF. And all my neighbors went down???
Ya thanks I'm going to for sure.Appeal.
We've done it twice - successful both times.
If your neighbors went down, you have a good case.
Cheers
Lol.They probably spied your fancy pizza oven, then extrapolated how nice the rest of your place must be ... lol. They were nosing around my old neighbors place while he's in the process of renovating his house by himself. He chased the guy off pronto! Yelling after him , " I'm paying taxes on all my materials, permits galore, to make my home nicer and now you want to tax me more because of it. Get stuffed !! "
It's difficult to understand for sure .Someone should be fired for that
Building permits hit their radar, but not electrical.Even though my area has nothing on file and I could have done it without permits I did use the permit system. I wanted to make sure the work was done to code. Put in a 200amp electrical panel, pre wired for a heat pump and electric charger for a vehicle and enclosed the carport.
My motivation was mostly to get my crap out of the line of sight of the shopping cart bandits. A day of fishing meant 17 trips, X2, loading and unloading absolutely everything from my boat. Now it is 3 or 4 trips and my boat is 99% safe, and it gets a warmish, dry, place to stay between trips.
I should have done it years ago.
