Great looking job but agree, move it forward. I had a similar arch on my boat, it was mounted a little to far astern. Everytime you held the rod up, it tangled with the ones in the rocket launchers, also makes netting much easier if you have to have the rod fully vertical and not tangled up. Nice job.

Cool and thanks for the compliments guys. That was just a test fit for height because I hadnt made it wider yet. I couldnt jam it anymore forward in that pic as it was squeezing the supports for the top... I cant afford a radar system right now so im going to mount a radar reflector on the radar pad for the time being.
A 5 foot 6 top, Looks like you will only be fishing with Garden Nomes ........ Man that's low. I would take it back and not except it. Nice fishing back age though ...... If it's not raining.
Only 14 rod holders on the arch, you may need a few more I think.

So as for the pod, I priced out materials and it was around $850 to build it myself. I found a shop that would build it to my specs for $1200 so that was a no brainer. He's behind schedule but I should have it within the next week I'm told. We got most of our parts in now and I'm getting borred waiting to hang these motors! lol... We ended up going with a teleflex 4.2 NFB rotary steering system, we can always upgrade to full hydraulic in the future when we have more budget. We however did splurge for a full Smartcraft system which will be very nice to monitor the big motor. Patched up all the old rigging holes in the swiss cheese transom and gave it a coat of epoxy primer and 3 coats of Endura ex2c topcoat. Should be bomb proof!

x2, I'd estimate we removed between 900-1000lbs removing the inboard and the 30" setback will change it up for sure. Hoping to be able to run to thrasher regularly with confidence with the changes.

Well still waiting on the pod. I had a peak at it the other day and its pretty slick, one of the nicest I've seen so that makes me happy
I was checking out the condition of the hull the other day and found a hole had been punctured through a chine. Which lead to hours of patching, filling, scraping, and sanding and finally a gloss black paint job. The snowball effect lmao
