Hey Calgary guy you should be able to find a few springs around. Still a bit early fished there a number of years now always found the end of June to be the hottest, depending where out of Rupert you are fishing. Once fish start showing off the QCI you can be sure it's not long till Dixon area's such as Dundas Is. will start to heat up. You can be sure of some great bottom fishing, and excellent crabbing and prawning. Be sure to post when you return Thanx beak.

We were out there last year on the 10th of June and did well on springs and the hali fishing was great. The biggest problem we had was that all the highways were washed out had to pull the boat through about 1km of river, and across 50 km of logging roads. Oh the joys of fishing LOL.

Well our guide has just blown us off. He phoned and said do not waste your time comming out.
Unfortunatly, there is little I can do about it. We still are going

that sucks....hope things pick up in the next couple of weeks...do you think it could turn on that fast?

no salmon anywhere on the coast
rupert, qci, or here in vic.
only vancouver is good.
the end is near.
it's all over.

:(

;)

Poppa, I agree. He is trying to give us a heads up.
However, with 9 guys booked, it was imposible to get everything changed. Flights, holidays booked, ect ect
There is more to this story than just that. I will share if I find I am not satisfied with the outcome.

A friend of mine was out in PR last weekend up neer the work channel they did not bad a number in the 20's one 36 lbs king and lots of hali but all chicken size, it did get a little rough for fishing and they were forced to turn to KOKANEE fishing. all in all they had a good time

Wondering if anybody has any reports from the work channel or prince rupert. Any big salmon being caught yet. Heading up next weekend so just curious! :)

It's pretty dismal here in Craig, Alaska too. Getting the same reports from up north in Sitka. Water temp is 46 degrees, which might have something to do with it.

i know the water feels really cold this year in victoria and looking online its lower than it has been in a quite a while for this time of year...

so salmon are late? or offshore? or never coming?

what do colder ocean temperatures this year imply?
