prawning techniques?

first time tried prawning

this was done in a prawn pond (paid for the entrance)

however, after 2hrs of prawning, i have only got 2
i have lot of bites, but whenever i tried to fish it up, the prawn would release the bait and hook.
lost alot of prawn because of this

the 2 prawn i got, just that i got lucky that the hook is firmly into the mouth.

anyone can share the experience of getting this bugger?
according to the prawn pond owner, this prawn (or we call it the mini lobster, fresh water) are import from OZ.
