has anyone used the anchor recovery (buoy and bucket) system to lift up the traps?? also anybody had troble with 'holes' being cut/eaten in the netting- dog fish?? Solution??????

Yep to the puller but - I like the EZ-Marine type as they hold up much better and work heavy currents without fail.
The plastic sleave type noted above have a history of slipping or simply coming apart under heavy load/currents.

I used the anchor lift method. Works great. Just be sure you leave a little extra room between traps to pull them. Use a large bouy with a bucket for drag on the anchor lift. I have my old setup I could sell you for $100. Has a heavy aircraft cable and pully setup I made for behind the boat. I live in courtenay. 703-4761 (Dan)
