prawn bait for my pond fish?

I was thinking of crushing prawn bait and feeding my koi and goldfish. It would be much cheaper than buying feed at the pet store. Any comments for ar against would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't see why it wouldn't work. My prawn bait comes in a bag marked fish food/prawn bait.

Stopped for showers at a rv park in Squim they had a huge trout pound with 12 pound trout I swear. You could by little bags of dog food for them. Not sure about koi.

nope dont do it. IT may be cheaper but you will run into problems down the line... prawn bait is meant to stink and be bait; as far as nutritional value is slim, and it will cloud the water... not to mention not the right diet for goldfish and koi

I think Cubra Libre may have it right with fish farm pellets and Island Girl suggested fish hatchery pellets which makes sense as they would not have the growth hormones and other additives. Now to find a place to score a supply. Cheers
