Coming up to the Nook, how is the fishing in Barclay Sound? We are mainly doing crabbing and prawnning but I would love to drop a line.

i used to have a 11.5ft misty river and fished there quite regularly.i now have a 16ft welded aluminum. it's good for all boats till the wind picks up around 11.00a.m.almost every day. cheers m.t.[:p]

Thank you for the heads up. Very comical story, and I don't have to learn the same way - I'll take your word for it and take my boat up the inlet.

Cheers!!!!:D

I have towed my boat and RV into the Nook for over twenty years now. Sometimes it is great and sometimes it is rough. Depends on the weather the two dyas before you go down. It takes me about 1.5 hours when I am towing. After all this time I kinow the road fairly well, that is I know when to slow down for various curves etc. Every afternoon from 4 PM until they are home, you will run into crew trucks heading for Port Alberni:( But the single biggest concern is the "off road" logging trucks. Although they go slow, they do take up alot of the road - so be ready to pull over and let them by - afterall it is their road.
The wind indeed does come every nice day in the summer months, so if you are boating down I suggest that the earlier you leave Port the calmer the ride will be.[/size=3]
