Ouch... Nanaimo Crash

Just happened in Nanaimo..... Hope everyone is all right. Not the right way to start the weekend being rear ended by a guy towing a huge fifth wheel

That Optimax leg looks pretty tough - I'd say it won from the look of that chev front grill!

Make sure you have a flag on your motor. Get a 12x12 flag before this happen to you. Most of our legs extend further past the legal limit of our lights for towing safely.

I just get one of those large orange garden bags, slip it over the leg and secure it with electrical tape.

Do you think a flag would if he cant see that whole boat what good is a flag??? need to slow down when towing i would assume

I went right by that crash today.....

Roads were really slick in Nanaimo.....didn't take much to lose traction......one of those drizzly rain days......

That boat is moved quite far forward on the trailer, may have bow damage as well

Worse part is now both people wont be having a fun july long weekend or a good time down the road for a bit I feel sorry for both of them as long as no one was hurt thats the main thing...

Having a flag on your motor may not stop an accident, but it my avoid you being held partially responsible for not have a properly marked load. Hey but if your wealthy enough.... Carry on, but make sure you have paid for good insurance.

Also that is the first light in Nanaimo on the parkway, south end, people are usually doing a pretty good clip .. lets hope whoever was involved still found a way to go fish this weekend...

Hopefully the guy was on his way home after fishing. Would be interesting to see what the leg on that Merc looks like after they get the Chevy unwrapped from the prop!

F/ A has a good point ....... the RED FLAG is a good idea regardless and the length the OB sticks out might just screw dude for insurance so good point F A

Now ........ A great time to POD that Boat, new power ..... giddy up, bet dude with the boat just slammed brakes on to get this done for what is to come later in the season LOL

Good to hear no one hurt bad.

It must have been smoked pretty hard, because the trailer reach had a pretty good bend in it when I drove by it as they were loading it onto a flatdeck wrecker.

ouch....I drive big trucks 18 wheelers.....I was taught by strict driving instructors. I learned that smaller trucks with trailers or 5 ton trucks are needed to stop longer distance with large spaces as possible as when driving in the snow or on rain stick roads. glad everyone is ok.
