For those interested....Spent a couple days fishing Ferrer Pt. Weather was very good, trolled up a couple slot halibut in the back bay and released a small chinook and hit 2 other good ones on anchovie. Talked to lots of people on the radio and the guides in Tahsis. No one place sounded on fire, but were there if you had time to grind them up. Prawning was not too bad in between the commercial guys. Bought a sockeye from a FN guy at the launch, that was some good eating!

Just got back as well from a trip. Offshore weather was great. Got 5 slot halibut trolling, many lings, and actually a few decent silvers. Lost a really nice spring. Prawns were very plentiful after we got dialed in on the right spot. Heard of a few nice springs being caught.

DFO gave us a hard time but turned out ok. They pulled up to our boat and we had just boated our third halibut. All poles were in the boat and my father was just writing in his fish on the cabin table when they pulled up. Accused my father of just writing in our fish a they pulled up. All of our licenses were on the table because we had caught three fish in short order. Got a little tense until I suggested they look at the hand writing on each license as they were clearly different. They did do a search of our entire boat. Seemed to warm up a bit after a while. Just don't like being called a liar when we carefully follow all fishing regulations.
