Nootka or Barkley for springs & hali?

Hey folks,

I'm looking to get out at the end of the month for springs and halibut. Trying to figure out if Nootka or Barkley Sound is better at the end of July. If anyone can recommend a guide who does day trips(not looking for the big "lodge package" type deal) it would be much appreciated. Thanks for any advice!

I don't know any independent guides. All the lodges have guides but I don't know any personally. There might be some out of Gold River or Tahsis.
We always did our own thing - sometimes with the rental boats from Moutcha Bay. Pretty easy to fish Nootka on your own if you have some coastal experience. Good luck.
