Noco Chargers Still the best Automotive Charger?

Wife thought she could make it to the shop for a new alternator as diagnosed by a neighbour mechanic. Died half way. Tow truck driver clamped a big Noco to the battery and followed her to the shop. The guy says it he does it all the time. Cheaper and easier than a true tow.

I just bought a 5 amp one. Used it while on vacation to charge my deep cycle for the trolling motor. Easy and worked well. Going to install in the boat when I get home. Beats clamping the trickle charger on after every trip.

I bought an Optima D400+ charger out of the states last year. About $80 IIRC.

No complaints, AGM, wet, lithium, power sports modes, charges and conditions... seems to work well, it's my first "smart charger" and certainly out does the princess auto special I've used the past 20 years.

I just installed my new Noco genius 5x2 charger. Batteries are all charged up at about 13 volts.
Question…the lights on charger for each battery get to green and then it flashes the red V and then briefly standby and then cycles back through the lights until it gets to green and then starts the same cycle over. Is this how it works?

The way mine work is, it’s starts with the red and then orange and once they are fully charged the green lights go solid and stay on Green.

Once my battery is charged it only shows the green LED all the other lights are off.

They do not cycle through the LED’s unless I power cycle them, is it possible you have a loose connection?

Good to know 👍. Connections aren’t loose as they are bolted down onto the terminal. The charger connection rings are bigger than my terminal posts but wouldn’t think that would matter but not sure. I may have to call Noco and ask them.

Got the charger working properly now. Reconnected the connection rings by putting them on the bottom of the terminals which I guess give a better connection. They had been on top of a couple other ring connectors that were on the same terminals.
