No new fishing license

I will be holding off on getting a new fishing license until I hear what will be open next year and when.
Anyone else want to send a subtle message to DFO and the Canadian Government by not getting your license
at the end of March ??? Not to sure how much $$$$ will be taken out of their coffers but I think it would
be substantial.

Yes I understand. I do NOT do catch and release. So I got my license at the beginning of April
and I did not fish until August 1st. And I only fished for that month. I usually only fish the month
of May to August from the shore.

I rarely get out trolling and mooching.

it's a fruitless endeavor, Your effort would be better spent writing letters to DFO/MPs letter them know that waiting to april to release what restrictions we have next year is unacceptable.

Or writing them letters asking for a mark selective fishery.

The early fraser chinook closures are not going away, They are do for a SARA review. If returns are bad this year, an emergency listing may get recommended.

I agree, letters much more effective. DFO could care less about when people buy their licences, especially now that they give the $ raised from license fees to the Pacific Salmon Foundation (which is great!) and no longer send it off to Fed Govt general revenue
