Night Bite

I've heard so many conflicting reports on the night bite.

Anybody have any stories of excellent salmon or halibut after dark?

Halibut Yes Salmon not so much-this was up at the top end of Graham Island and the water was full of small Needlefish all glowing along their sides-bait was just spilling of the Hali's mouths.

In the Sooke/JDF area I found trolling for salmon in the dark a problem and not really worth doing. There are to many tide lines, crap, weed, kelp, kelp islands, logs, crab trap floats and lines, and small pieces of wood to jam through the kicker prop guard and damage the Al. prop. I like to be able to see what I am driving the boat into. Double Glow flashers and lures charged with a UV light should work though.
