Can't go wrong with a Merc 9.9 electric start.
Port Alberni has a great dealership, as no doubt does Nanaimo.

Our Yamaha has been running well for 14 years.

I've had at least 5 -9.9 Yamaha's over the years,never any trouble with any of them.They will probably be the most expensive though.

Bought a new 9.9 yam ht a couple years ago having no buyers regret at all

Tohatsu 9.9 EFI.

Had the non EFI for 13 years. Great motor, but occasional carb issues. EFI solves it.

9.9 high thrust Yamaha electric start remote control bought in 2010. Never missed a beat. Gotta be many hundreds of hours on it. Nothing but regular maintenance done.
