Need help, what to do?

if you guys are that concerned about it give it to me I will give it a good home, then you will have piece of mind in the spring

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it was against the law to burn marine fuel in an auto.
Something about the road tax that is not on the boat fuel.
SS I could come over and help you drain the thing into my boat.
Will burn it up for you and take you out for a fish.
Seriously you could fill it up with fresh gas and stabil.
Then add octane boost in the spring and good to go.
At least in the old days when gas was real gas without all the additives.
Octane prevents the gas from exploding under compression.
That's all it does. You want the spark plug to trigger the explosion.

If the gas is already a year old then siphon it out and burn it in your car. Mixing it with fresh gas as someone also mentioned is a good plan.

Stabil doesn't make gas fresh again it just stops it from going stale over time. i.e. adding stabil to already old gas will not bring it back to the same state as fresh gas.

Not an expert here but have read on another forum related to boat repairs and info that it is a mistake to use higher octane gas in motors not designed for it. Apparently the higher the octane, the slower the burn so it requires higher compression motors to get proper detenation. Also if your motor has had the timing set for regular gas, it will need to be retimed if you add premium.

There is nothing wrong with running high-octane fuel but it's a waste of money. High octane fuel is refined for higher compression motors to prevent detonation. It will burn just fine in a motor that needs only 87 octane. It just costs more!

Is this fuel a year old or this years???? Are you saying you never got out?? Come on I don't think so....Or I hope not. I will burn it for you..

Yup, made 8 or 9 trips to Winter Harbour, Nootka and Barkley with Spring Fever this year and only a couple with the Striper.............. Most of the fuel is from last year..................................... :(

WOW.....Everyone seems to think you should store it. Now that being said about the age of the fuel I will stick to my first suggestion. Put the boat in the water and go make a big run. Or pump it into the car just don't tell anyone. I don't see you wanting 2 year old gas in your boat. Get the tank lower then fill it with fresh fuel and some stabil.
