Need an update boyz!!

Mama, ya been back up to the otherside??? Sounds like Goran had an eventfull trip.. Just spent four days on the N. Isl. with damn near nothing to report.. Covered a stupid amount of ground and fished some premier streams.. A little early, 3-4 weeks unless the skywater opens up in a big way..cheers-dirty

Hey Wolf what the hell are you doing up,did your "COMPANY" leave early tonight or are you heading out for the early bite!

Just Bring it!

What's the word from those out today? Plan on hitting head/shack area if I can swim through the fog and find my way (on bearings pulled off ozi alone!) Still plenty of action? How about tides? Worth doing the 6am with slack around 10? Should I just hold off until 8 or so to catch the before and after slack?

PS. I have all the lats and longs pulled from Ozi - would it be worth my while to buy a basic handheld, stick in the waypoints and away we go (doubt I'd buy the map addons). Never used the handheld, but has to be better than nothing. Thoughts? How about brand for reasonable cost?

TIA
Dave

Out today at Otter 3 springs, one nice one about #34 and 2 teenagers.filled the limit with pinks and cohos.
Dee I have a Garmin 182 I think it's one of the best out there.I did have a Garmin 12 handheld before also a great unit.Got the 182 for the bigger screen and the map.needed the bigger screen for running out to Swiftsure.

At Secretary from 7 til 9 when I finished with 2 smallish springs, 13 and 10 and a couple of pinks. I'm going to try the afternoon bite tomorrow. Has anyone been out in the pm lately? As for a GPS, I'm using a Lowrance Global Map 100--too old for you to be interested.(If anyone has the software chart for this area,I'd sure appreciate a copy--you can't even buy it anymore from Navionics.)I went out with my buddy yesterday and he has a iFinder H20 version--it seems to work great.

Still RED HOT on the water...bite started early and never ended. Hooked over 13 springs including a few smallish ones. But it was pea-soup fog all day. What happened to you wolf? Didn't see you drop the gear until 11:30...or were you changing spots?

Dirty,
off to the lodge next weekend as a guest not a guide! Can't wait to boss around Luna.

Wolf,
For sure, bet we both got some good stories up our sleeves, drop me a line when you get back.

Vinny,
Mama is on the chase for some chrome, maybe we'll head up to the H bomb run, and get some chrome. Derby's on.... Leave the bait at home you roe pig Luna!

Later boyz,

Mama

I have a Garmin 172 handheld - no chart/map, basic waypoints and tracks. I would prefer the mapping feature but gets me out in fog - accurate, lots of waypoints and tracks, inexpensive and easy to use.

Just came back from an evening fishing at Otter, lots of fish around the pm tide change (end of flood).

Sounds like it may have slowed down....'a bit'..downgrade from on fire, to hot....talked to a few that saw very little caught included none themselves, I had no luck Saturday although I could barely fish...wife was hungover so ended up going myself and the wind played totally havoc with my lund...could barely hit Aldridge it was so brutal for me. A sad thing seeing there was no fog!

Anyhow, back at the launch, seemed to be a few pinks in and some teen springs with 3 that I saw in the mid 20's....since that was only over 20 minutes of looking, that isn't bad. One guy that did well said he was down deeper around 70' at the tidelines.

Nice marine forecast though EC...light winds forecast PM Friday, then 10-20 forecast by the morning report...I swear some of those gusts were into the 30's in the late morning.....oh well.

PS, thanks all for the GPS alerts...am investigating.

I think it down graded from INFERNO to on fire. Longstone at Otter in the afternoon, there is no sound like it !! As for the steely derby, you know the Willie will be there.

Tournament Proven !

just let me know when this steelie derby is happening so I know which days NOT TO GO, got a feeling there will be a lot of sore lips in the stamp at that time.

Don't worry Chev we rarely get the sled above the bucket. We'll leave the Island/slide area to you!!
