I think DFO and these Fish farm companies have known this all along and just kept quiet and low key. I think having open net fish farms interspersed on the migration paths of wild salmon smolts returning to sea sucks and should be unlawful. I think DFO is playing russian roulette with what's left of our dwindling wild salmon industry. They certainly have no regard for the precautionary principle. More of a make as much money as possible from farmed salmon while we can and damn the environment and look the other way when it comes to all the negative effects these farms are causing. They should be ashamed. And to be increasing the amount, size and scale of these farms every year is just total insanity. They should be dismantling them. That's what I think anyways.
