Low water levels caused by drought preventing B.C. salmon from spawning

I was wondering if we would start seeing this, I heard that some streams don't even have water in them right now.

Zero mention of salmon ranching as an issue by Watershed Watch.

I wouldn't be surprised if the salmon ranchers select for the earliest returning pinks (hatcheries typically do) which then forces wild pinks to change timing to also return early or get no food in the ocean. Ranched salmon don't need rain to spawn but the wild fish sure do..

Horrific. And since climate change accelerates, as we see, for example, in the 20-year drought in the western U.S.., die-offs like this will happen more and more.

At least we're getting some international awareness happening:

"The warning comes as the Metro Vancouver region only saw about seven millimetres of rain in September, significantly less than the average of 51 millimetres for the month."
We're starting to get an idea of what people in some other countries have been dealing with for quite awhile.
But we're all right, Jack: https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/climate-change-rich-poor-un-report-1.5189662
