More Chinook Closures? - 2025 Summer

So very happy Polypants lost and got smoked in his own riding !! That being said would be nice for some common sense prevail reguarding our fishery.

We are actually in way position now than we ever have been as far as this MPA nonsense is concerned.

The issue has always been with any of the fisheries issues is that we keep electing people that won't ever have a chance to form government or be the official opposition. If you look at the island Nanaimo ,the North and Cowichan areas turning blue that is huge. Also now they have a minority government so they have to be careful on what they impose.

I am interested to how this plays out honestly.

Isn't seeking a political decision what we have been talking about...just the one that favours our view of the world. These things are seldom purely "science-based"
These days there is a 'science' for everyone and every situation. Certainly world view is a better descriptor.

I have just heard from a reliable Source that the department is heavily looking at option 3. This would be absolutely disastrous for the public fishery and sport fishing. It would be a simple reallocation of these Chinook rather than any kind of a conservation measure.
That will cause a revolt but it would be a good way of the liberals to give BC a big FU
