Mills Landing up for sale

Hi guys, just a heads up that Mills Landing will be hitting the market sometime soon and I just wanted to be the first to let you know.

Financials and all info is available through Peter Gallacher at Coast Realty in Nanaimo. Would be an awesome opportunity for someone who wants to live and run their own fishing business on the coast. It also would be a fantastic group purchase as well if you could get a few guys involved.

Unfortunatley it's just become too big for me to handle myself and with my parents getting older, my wife not really being into it like she used to, and me having another full-time job this is probably for the best, even though I don't think so most of the time.

If there is some interest in a group purchase let me know, because I'd love to stay involved somehow if anyone is interested. I just can't keep this whole thing going myself with my life the way it is right now.

Hope she finds a good home.

Id really like an opportunity to get in on a group purchase if you go that route. Let me know, k?

Well boys like I said, I'd love to stay in for part of it if we can get some guys together for the rest. Would be a very sweet thing to be involved in...

If we can get enough $$ and people I'm sure we could do this.

you have any idea what the realtor fees are gonna cost you on that![:0] why the heck didn't you work out a private deal, not like there aren't enough people interested.

What kind of $ would you be looking for in total? How large is the property? Amenities? Ive never been there, where exactly is it? Boat dock? Fuel? Camping? Staff?
Id make a special trip to check it out, and gee, I may have to test the fishing at the same time[:p]

DOF, the realtor is a friend of mine and I already talked to him about this as an option if it comes together. We'll work something out if it ends up being a private group deal, it's not a big concern. I wanted to push it through a realtor because he has access to a more broad market than I do, and even though I may get some interest from some guys on here, there is also a lot of "talk and sometimes not a lot of action on here, so if it works out great, and if not it'll hit MLS and the western investor and Alberta guys, and eventually someone will buy it.

IFL, the place is listed for 775k, and I did up a package for the realtor that he can send to whoever that has all of the details in it. I'd prefer it to all go through him so he can earn his commish and so it's all upfront and legit. There's 4 cottages and a house on an acre of oceanfront. The dock there is a gov't dock in our foreshore which we have rights to space on. Get the package and we'll go from there.

Poppaswiss, yep definitely hard to let go of and I wish I didn't have to do it but I feel that it's the best thing to do under the circumstances. My ideal solution would be to find some good guys who wanted to be part of it and we could all do it together, but I'm not sure if that will happen. It's pretty hard trying to do it all yourself and although I have the greatest staff in the world it's a lot of work to do pretty much on your own.

All I ever wanted to do in the beginning was fish, and I'm hoping that if I sell it, or sell most of it, than I can get back to more fishing and less working.

Wow

It just seems like yesterday and we were building Mills Landing. I can remember getting the wood delivered by the Rose, packing it off the dock to Malcom's tug and then packing it all up the muddy trail from the beach/Gov wharf. I swear that the doug fir we got from M&B for the floor joists we staight off the bottom of the ocean. They weighted a ton. We built a jig on the second cabin's floor for all the truss designs, then played with it until we got it right. All those trusses are glued and nailed with plywood at each joint. Getting them up proved to be one of the biggest hurdles as the cabins were all off the ground and there was no landscaping yet. We managed with a lot of muscle and beer:D

I still remember Jody and I buggering off to Colorado for a couple weeks in Feb and his mom getting so pi$$ed at us for leaving. I was not sure we had a job when we came back, but she needed us as we were the muscle and some of the brains to the whole thing. It was a great way to spend a fall and winter.

Lots of memories at that place.

Good luck on the sale Millsy!!!

Just might have to visit the place this summer.

Cheers

Millsy, one of my customers was potentially interested in investing in a lodge in Bamfield. I'm not sure if your operation is what he is looking for as either whole or partial owner. I could pass along your financial info to him if you want. Could you PM me with the info and I will get in touch with him.

Pat

Osama,

You have related mail. Possibilities, cross your fingers ;)

Millsy:
I suppose I can get that package from the fellow at coast? May need fairly quickly...

Cheers,
Nog

No prob Pat, Peter said that package will be ready and out today, so if you haven't already get in touch with him and get your name on the list and he'll get it to you.

Thanks, yes we are interested, and prospectives for partners would be good as well.

Sure thing, I'll put together a list of the guys who are interested in a joint purchase and send it out on the weekend to the group. If anyone who hasn't contacted me already is interested in buying a piece of the pie let me know.
