I've heard many times there are two indicators that dictate fuel prices: Supply and demand as well as what a market is able/willing to bear.
You can't protest any of the 'big 3', I agree with finaddict. Even going to an 'independent' operator, where do you think they buy their fuel from? The 'big 3' also buy bulk refined fuel from each other, especially in the event of refinery maintenance or shut down. They have us by the short curly's.
