Tips Up

Lent out my traps today and 1 set did not come back.
Lost in Saanich inlet with W.Barz and a phone number on an orange scotsman. Anyone sees them please give me a call.

Thanks!! Tips

Try the middle out of Patricia Bay in around the channel marker there.. over the years we have found countless lost traps there... seems like the currents drift them there for some reason.. we have called many phone numbers off bouys from there and have gotten traps returned to there owners.. I would give the middle of Patricia bay a try... ya never know...

After looking over the gear I lent out. I have found the bouy missing has G.Rice and a phone number not W.Barz.
Yote and I share a couple of sets.

Please let me know if anyone sees them.

I guess with the closure tomorrow I may get a call from DFO to get my traps out of the water and pick up my fine for prawning in during a closure. LOL!

Tips

If lending out your gear why did they take the scottsman? Wouldn't be the right name for the fisher and I think that might be illegal....Karma got ya!

Thought that response might come up after I wrote the post. LOL!

You are correct by the books and we will be purchasing some extra bouys for that reason. Sharing traps and a puller makes it more economical but to stay legal we will need to purchase more bouys.

Kinda ridiculous in my eyes as we are always within our legal number of traps, legal posession of prawns andd our bouys are clealy marked. There are lots of bouys out there with no identification.

...but rules are rules.

Tips

The bouys with no name or number could be your one .Two years ago there was a guy change bouys to blank one for him self.

put some duct tape over the name on the bouy. put your name on with a felt marker.
