Looking into buying a new Kicker for my Seasport Skipper 19'

I just put a 25 high thrust Yamaha on my boat. I can’t say enough good things about it. I want to say it’s only 146 lbs compared to the 9.9 at just shy of 100lbs. Alternator puts out 16amps, it’s EFI, has a ton of power and it’s really really quiet. It does mount the same as large outboards so if you’re wanting the thumb screw version like the 9.9 then you’re out of luck there. The way the shift cables are on the 25 it actually has a smaller install width than the 9.9 with the externally mounted shift lever and how the cable attaches. My only gripe is how bad the thing vibrates at a dead idle, once you increase the rpm by even a few rpm it smooths right out. Installed my itroll on it, couldn’t be happier. IMG_5603.jpeg

I just got a 2024 merc efi 9.9 pro kicker. Mine is the bigger block 333cc that they used for the 15hp as well.

In 2024 they are beginning a switch over to the efi 209 cc engine for the 9.9 pro kicker. It’s 10 lbs lighter
I could not find a new one to see if it has the same center tiller handle configuration that I like so I got the old big block.

In spite of all my recommendations for EFI, i'm also a sucker for a good deal - hard to beat at this price:

Great deal but I would still go efi! Worst thing for a motor is sitting not being used

I'd like EFI, but my 1997 Honda 15 won't die. Starts on June 15th, goes to bed September 10th every year.

I’ve got a 2008 Merc pro kicker sitting in my shop that needs a home. 25” leg, power trim/tilt, electric start. Needs battery cables, a run up, and shakedown in a test tank before I would be willing to sell it. Would like to get ballpark $1400 for it. Would that be something you’d be interested in? Full disclosure I bought it as a project earlier this year.
