Looking for Advice and Suggestions

Just don't go too shallow in that area and you'll be fine-also have a sharp eye out for cruise ships/freighters and their wakes.

So, after going through all the kind advice, I got out on Saturday to give it a shot. Ended up getting out a little later than I wanted, and the one critical error was launching at Cates Park in North Van. The harbour was pretty rough as there was a sail past of what looked like a hundred boats or so, so next time will launch at Ambleside (if it's still open).

Got the gear out and trolled back and forth from the Cap to the pink apartments. Saw a number of schools of baitfish on the sounder and a bunch of soundings down deeper. Just ran the one down rigger with the portable gunnel mount clamp and worked pretty well; only dragged bottom once.

No hits, but it's a start and gives me time to get familiar with the gear and the water. Thanks again for the help.
