Looking For a Tuna Guide

Some of those big group boats with 30 fat old white guys in camo look like a real treat 😆
Not for tuna trips. They usually run 10-12 anglers. The overnights are a bit spendier than our 6-pack charters, they are definitely slower (much) boats, but they may result in 10-20 fish per angler.

I used to guide for tuna out of Tofino and Bobby would be a good choice. I’ve also gone on a 12 hr, 10 man trip out off the Columbia bar. Both are big fun!

The live bait, light tackle option off the Washington boats was off the chain and I’ll go back

Denis, there are 3 of us in my group now, we are exploring different possibilities but right now we are leaning towards Westport, there are some cool looking 2 day trips where you fish the first day, sleep on the boat overnight and fish the morning bite the next day. Price is right also. Hmmmmm so many possibilities.
I personally never been overnight offshore on a bigger boat so I kinda want to get that off my bucket list.
The multi day trips out of Westport can be hit or miss based on where the fish are found, moving at 10-12 knots has it's disadvantages. I did a few trips but it's a crap shoot on the old puker boats like sometimes hero and sometimes zero.

The fast mover day boats can adjust quicker and cover more water. Far Corners Express or All Rivers and Saltwater Charters are the big two that I'd look at and book two days and stay in a hotel and enjoy the town. You're looking at max 7 albacore per person on the day boats, the pukers can hold a lot more fish so when it's good you can really load up.

As others have mentioned the live bait fishing is a game changer....absolutely epic when a school is glued to the boat and you don't have guys breaking off fish which can scatter the school real quick.
