Looking For a Tuna Guide

Ooooooooo, that sounds interesting too
I have a 25 kingfisher with new power to use for tuna, I will keep that in mind maybe we can buddy boat out there and get that tuna gear of yours some work, this time I will leave the wife on shore and not have to go back after just 2hours of fishing 25miles offshore 🤦‍♂️. September might be tough depending on how much I ditch work to play this summer but for tuna I’m in!
Dam I can't keep up to your boat world! My tuna gear needs a few zukes tied up but it's ready to go. 4 rods ready as are the planning and diving hand lines. Can't wait to go.

Not my boat, but I can use it anytime I like,
I’m still rocking Ray’s searay and loving it!
And the other boat that I shall not mention is dumped in the bushes at my buddies house a far drive away from me being used as a den for coons or what ever else might be crawling up in there. Sounds like you’re all locked and loaded!

I should buy your boat! Maybe we can work out an exchange for business services….shhhh the tax man is listening!

Denis, what boat do you have? A couple years ago guys where coming back to the dock in center consoles in ukee loaded with tuna, they where in pretty close. But last year I heard they where far out, all depends

I don’t even know what you do! I always thought you don’t work your always browsing and posting boats and on the forum 🤣
Shhhhh don’t let my shareholders know, I’m not like musk able to get a huge pay package for getting high and FTD!

We headhunt people for marine, mining, construction and a few HD equipment companies. Working on a solution for small businesses now that AI is moving so quick, our employee costs have always limit our ability to “compete” with the “hr consultants”

Back to Tuna. Looking forward to slaying some this year, but looks like my wife is playing in the field hockey masters in the Netherlands so we will be out for August, September will be our slay fest.

This was Sept 2, 2022 heading out with a member and another members as a buddy boat, it has been way too long for me.

@Yyjdennis keep your eyes and ears open for the Bamfield derby. If you are offshore tough crews drop out due to sea sickness and you can get called up to the big leagues.

I think the kingfisher might be a bit too small for 4 people plus ice and gear, but definitely will keep that in mind if we end up going with a few boats I’m sure we can accommodate you guys somewhere.

I do agree with bc coast pilot, there’s a lot to do with going out for tuna, caring for the catch and knowing where to fish, having the intel… a guide especially for the first time would be priceless.
SFAB has some info available regarding tuna if anyone is interested.. Just need a email address to send it too :)

We've got an 18' Lifetimer centre console, although we've already got two footitis and are considering something bigger. It's single engine and maxes out at about 23 knots, so not really an offshore boat.

Skip the two footitis and go for the six footitis!

Back to tuna, I am really going to consider going with a guide out of Ukee or possibly Tofino in late August, that would be my first choice. There would be 2 of us, splitting the cost sounds great to me, I will be looking into that and I will pm you

I went with Johnny from Tonquin Charters out of Tofino. That was set up by a friend on the forum though and was a last minute thing because of Willie's willy problems. He was a great guy and I felt safe on his 24 Pursuit. He was happy to let us help with the gear which was the best part.

I would be so upset if the guide wouldn’t let us handle the gear, sooo you’re saying you might be up for another last minute tuna trip?!
We can hold hands if you want to feel safe 🙃

Yes, the plan is to do some tuna fishing this year. If they're crashing the beach way up North like they did a few years back, I might shoot for something like that instead though.

After the hockey games you are dead to us @wdlfbio

You planning to hit any derby's up this way this year?
Staying moored in WA this year. Will be heading up to Anacortes next month or so and might get venture into your world for some of our fish. Then some lings and prawns before bringing her to Westport,

We’re pretty jacked to finally use the heck out of one of these….

Ping me if you are crossing over, I'll be on the water for sure and would love to get some footage of the new beast. PS, drop me a text or your number again and I'll send you that video of your old boat, I figured out a way to send multi GB files.

Denis, there are 3 of us in my group now, we are exploring different possibilities but right now we are leaning towards Westport, there are some cool looking 2 day trips where you fish the first day, sleep on the boat overnight and fish the morning bite the next day. Price is right also. Hmmmmm so many possibilities.
I personally never been overnight offshore on a bigger boat so I kinda want to get that off my bucket list.

Some of those big group boats with 30 fat old white guys in camo look like a real treat 😆

Yeah, I'm not crossing that border right now, maybe never again. Bobby Kimoto, the guide recommended by @BC Coast Pilot has openings in late August and his rates are reasonable, so I'm thinking of going that route. He only has room for 2 or 3 guests on his boat though.
