Looking for a 2020ish New-to-me Truck

Thought I'd ask here because a lot of you are around trucks. Totalled my Ram a couple weeks back, super fun stuff. Need something newer and reliable but I'm not doing any towing or crazy off roading. a 2021 V8 Tundra would be nice but trying to keep it under 50k if possible. I only put 8k kms per year on my truck and it's mostly city driving with the odd half-yard of gravel or small load of lumber. Crew cab preferred for the kids as this would be our once per year Okanogan trip and once per year Island trip vehicle as well. Any leads would be appreciated.

As an option get a half/ton Silverado or GMC Sierra. For under 50 that year you can get a pretty clean truck low kms. There are lot used right now in the 30k to 40k range some with very low kms. 2020 to 2021 models.

Been happy with mine and it is a 2017, and been reliable.

That was for sure my first choice in trying to keep the cost sub 40k. But then you know how it goes, I have 30 but I could spend 40 and if I'm looking at 40 then why not bump it up to 50?! And that's when the Tundras slid into my DMs.

Yeah its a bit crazy with used trucks right now. Toyota is always going to more reliable but have to pay for it. Its crazy what some are asking for those tundra. Sought after truck.

I have a 2020 Tundra and I can tell you that its the best truck I have ever owned. And I have owned them all at one time or another. Not cheap to buy or run but comfortable, powerful and I could still sell for what I paid for it in 2021. Good luck on your search.

Not going to lease through the company? Is most of your commuting for work?
It's still more money out that way. I write-off milage and depreciation anyway. My 2015 Ram cost me all of 2k per year in the end. Can't beat that with any lease. I always buy 2-3 years old and keep them for as long as possible.

In a similar boat. Got an 03 ram with 500 on the clock. Dont have time to do all the little things on it, so looking to replace. I got it 12 years back for 12k with 270 on the clock... anything even close is more than double that now..

looking at vehicles is painful. You start off with what you need and want to spend then, 1 or 2 years newer a few more bucks then it is the I want! 10” screen, leather, massage and you end up like me in a f350 limited. Good luck.
If looking used I would get a gmc with a v8. 2020 -2023 or an f150 v8. V6 go like stink but turbo issues after 150k, 10 speeds are great after 21.

I'm definitely trying to avoid any of the new small diesels and turbos. Give me a simple V8 any day. But a 10" screen and massage would be nice!!! lol

@Rain City just be careful with mopar gas and gm gas with AFM and MDS systems. Those are the cylinder deactivation systems and I would highly recommend you tune them out right away if they aren’t locked by a secure gateway. Usually 2018 and under models are not secure gateways.

Failure to tune it out can cause catastrophic lifter failure and camshaft damage as well.

If you find more money I have a 2022 F350 full load platinum long box 6.7 with just under 18,000km, absolutely mint not a mark. Never winter driven, sits in a 18c garage under a cover.
Thanks man but it's really more truck than I need.

I'm a big fan of this one. Be nice if it was 28k, maybe after a month or two sitting on the lot it will be. When you take the boat down to the catalina's on a trailer it would be perfect :) https://www.facebook.com/share/1GSikZPDS5/

why the dislike for the small diesels? I have a 2018 and 2021 3.0 fords and absolutely love them. I would buy another if I could find 1
