looking for a 20-22ft boat

Sorry for any cross posting. I posted this on the Boats Motors and Rigs forum this morning, but I think it belongs here.

I'm looking to buy a 20-22 ft fishing boat (could be a little bigger but not smaller) for East Coast Vancouver Island.
Ultimately I would like it to be a package deal with kicker, down riggers, and a basic sounder/gps.
I'm looking for a solid reliable boat. My budget is around $15.000

I think the lack of responses may be partly due to your lower budget for what you are hoping to find. Also more specific details would help I think too. Such as: Main pwr Outboard or Sterndrive/I/O ? pod? ...Cuddy ? Walk Around? ...CC/Bimini ? HT ?

15K for a full package 22' in solid reliable shape will likely be tough to find (this category will always need some cash thrown at it afterwards) To put your boat budget into perspective, for even a newer 22', maintenance, moorage, and fuel could easily go to 5-7K a year which is almost half your boat purchase budget!

I saw this 95 Hourston at my marina and hull looks to be in good shape with low hrs http://www.thunderbirdmarine.com/boat-info.php?ID=4175 and likely could be had for low to mid twenties . More than your budget but if you need to stick to 15K I can only assume you also would need to have lower usage/maintenance costs than an older 22'..... I'd suggest then maybe go smaller ?

i had the same motor,, that looks like a descent price.... i burned alot of fuel and it ate coils for fun...

I was beginning to wonder....
I have considered the Striper. It's been there a while and I wonder why?
I know my budget is not huge, but I see outfits in my price range now and then (I've been looking for a bit, but not ready to buy)
Peahead, thanks for your comments. I plan to trailer the boat 22-24 feet is still manageable though not always fun to trailer, any bigger and it's a project to get her in and out. I plan to fish it for a couple of years and upgrade, or not, if I really love the boat.
I have had a forum member contact me with a decent offer. I need to get up Island to have a look, perhaps I should have a peek at the Striper when I'm on my way through

I have one you could buy. 140 four stroke Suzuki on a podded 22 ft Starcraft Islander (aluminum). Stored inside since I've had it re-powered. 8Hp Yamaha HT kicker I think.
Perfect for ECVI.
I'm in Vancouver though. Boat is stored in my warehouse. I bought a bigger boat a few years ago and only use the smaller one occasionally around the harbour.
Boats been 25 miles offshore of Tofino, and all over Barclay and Vancouver. Across the straight numerous times.
