Looking for 22-23’ for west coast fishing

I think he'd have better luck if he cleaned the boat up and took the saran wrap off the camera lens!
He’s 80 years old lol, not very tech savvy, and I am not getting involve in this sale, me and him are not on the same boat when it comes to what it’s worth, problem is like most selling boats, he thinks that he will get back what he spent in maintenance and repairs and all that

Getting off the OP's topic a bit.The boats I think would suit him is my favourite 22 or 24 Seasport.23 or 25 Wellcraft Coastal,682 Campion,232 Grady,2470 or 255 Pursuit, maybe a 22 Arima or Seawest 22 or 24 if you can find one. These are all fiberglass w/outboard power only suggested. Most will be over the $60K budget.I can't think of an aluminum that will work with that budget and an overnighter.OOPS,forgot the golden oldies,23 Hourston or 20 something DE's.
Do the 22 Arima or Seawest 22 have 6 feet of headroom or are they shorter inside? I feel like older Arima's are not standup, but I may be wrong.

22’ Sea West has at least 6’6” but your not weekending a family on it very comfortably. I have a 24’ Sea Sport Explorer so it has a stand up head and a galley, smallest I would want for weekending on butt well outside of the OP’s budget unfortunately

Yes, 22-6” not excluding the pod,27ft oal

I still don’t think that’s quite right. When I moored at Lions Bay they measured me on the rack at 28’2” total with the motor down. That’s from the tip of the pulpit to the back of the leg. Pulpit ~2’, bracket ~3’ and leg ~1’ deep = 6’ 28’ - 6’ = 22’ excluding the bracket. Best guess is 682 refers to a 6.82 m (22’4.5”) actual length of the hull from bow rub-rail to stern rub-rail.

You are correct, I actually measured it tip of the bow to back of stern is 22-6”, our boats where side by side in my yard, he was arguing with me that it was 24, mine is 25 bow to stern and it shows when side by side, look at the pic I posted of mine behind his

Maybe your not old enough, they were built in the 70-80s.Sunny Shores in Sooke ran a bridge model 24 for many years way back when. I worked on 2 of the 34's with friends ,we got the hull and deck and then finished the interior etc..Still lots of them around.Currently DE has very low production of the models shown in the brochure.I've owned the 17,18 1/2 and the 206 outboard models. The 206 would be a lot better podded.
I saw the bridge model at sunny Shores. It was an I/O I think. I will go outboard only.

I upgraded from a 2000 542 Campion after 10 years to a Grady White 228G podded Seafarer, huge upgrade, we have slept on it tied to a dock. Much bigger dance floor than the 542 but the 682 is great as well.
I did see one of these on the market currently. The cuddy seemed a bit small from the pics. Are you able to get comfy? Head under bed? Sink?

Thanks, That’s helpful. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any good ones. I like the Seasport but they seem over priced. I wondered about Striper? I’m not in a hurry as I love my 542. So I. Have time to look for a good one. Not adverse to importing from the US either. I’ve done this twice now with good results. Just expands the pool.

Ive already been in discussion with this guy. Major hull repair covered under insurance and weird motor history! Other than that it’s perfect. ;). I might go up and have a look though.
lol, he’s a good friend of mine, old French guy, motor was a guide boat was taken off at 800 hrs or so, I did some of the maintenance on it over the years, and yes he hit a few logs, and extreme in Nanaimo fixed it under insurance, the boat is a 7 out of ten, we fished offshore a lot on that boat, for the size it handles great in rough stuf, get it surveyed by a good Survayor and make him an offer

I hadn’t seen price reduction on that one. Might check it out older Grady’s make me nervous. Seen a few w rotten decks.
Get it surveyed, if the rest is solid, get a quote from reputable glass shop, could be a decent boat, if I was in the market I would go see it

Yup, would make an interesting rec dive or a 2-3 year restoration for the right person.
lol, not sure where you see 2-3 year restoration, good glass guy gets that done in 2 weeks, unless it’s a full on gut job. Even then it’s not that long, part time at 2-3 hrs a weekend when you don’t have a clue 2-3 years 🤣🤣

I don’t want to slam a boat I’ve never seen. If the transom, stingers and gas tanks weren’t done prior to the repower I’ll just leave this out there. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTlAhsWfj8B-CcRmy-Xf9hchzY-YpXP5H&si=UbL-YADMGdhIANsc

Yes my wife have slept in the cuddy, the cushions cover the head and the sink. I can send pictures later if you like with some measurements
