Out at first light this morning, fish everywhere, every boat but ours was catching fish...we were using the same gear, same speed, same depth...leader length?
Any help would be appreciated, got a buddy visiting who's never caught a salmon.
Thanks.

you must have been doing something different.I have never fished in front of the little Q the best thing to do is talk to some of the boats catching fish. Most guys will help out when asked.

Try using a blue flasher with pink sockeye hootchies. approx 30" leader.

I've done fairly well at the little Q using that set up.

Hey I was up there last week and nailed three springs in the first hour (biggest was 29lbs). Try running purple haze flasher with a 4" copcar coyote spoon (6' behind flasher) @ 35' , and then stack another coyote on another rod with no flasher @ around 25'-27'. Guaranteed to catch fish

I've heard that cop cars were working, too. Guaranteed???
Sockeye gear still catchs the most on the Q Back a tit.

Thanks for the input. The day we got skunked, every boat (including us) was using sockeye gear (one boat using herring). Talking to others didn't help, as all it did was confirm we were at the same depth with same gear and same leader length...just one of those weird days I guess. We have since caught 5 and lost probably the same number. Last light on Monday we lost a monster after it ran about 200 yards and then started jumping around like a coho.

When has the bite been coming on morning or night? Got a half day trip tommorrow so im wondering when to go

6:15am & 6:00pm to dark. We've had success lately trolling @ 40' in 60' of water. See you there if the wind dies a little...bit of a sketchy ride home last night after dark![:0]
