Here is a note I recieved from a close source to the topic today.
The source shall remain un-named as promised.
When the program fully launches there will be a challenge course offered that will consist of 1 day of review and a half day assessment. Requirements for eligibility for that challenge will be possession of the three courses and likely 100 hours of guiding experience. It looks like the price for that will be approximately 120.00.
I will be providing updates regarding status of the program whenever I get them.
Just as I also thought...a huge money grab.
I think that those of us that already have all the proper course load and self-inspected boats should all be grandfathered.
Challenge what I ask?

Well the C number would be fine LOL
dont want a 3 ft god awfull looking number on the boat wont be able to see LOL.
What you dont want to see a charter boat we all know out there rollie with 6 quests in it???with a 21 ft boat???
All this stuff is great but if we dont get enforcement what good is it.
I truely think when it all sinks in is when someone gets hammered with the $1250.00 fine doing illegal charters, then your going to see a mad scramble!!!!! saying "THESE ARE MY FRIENDS" isnt going to cut it as DOT is VERY much aware of what is going on and they are getting too much pressure for all sectors so hopefully something is going to happen this summer. im completly done got my YELLOW sticker in the mail the other day so im good to go.
