Liability

What is the liability of a boat owner who allows a survey person to board your boat. I have no problem with the survey but was wondering what would happen if they took a header, they always ask if they can check but does that leave a person liable when you say okay,

If the surveyor is a proper businessman, he should have his own WCB number and would be covered that way. You can ask him if he is covered, and if in any doubt, ask him to produce his WCB #. Happens all the time for various home improvement companies etc. Same thing here.

Licensed surveyors have their own insurance and wcb coverage as Pacemaker stated. My guy took a tumble during last survey 2 years ago. My underwriter wanted the survey done on the hard to inspect the hull as well.

I,m thinking more towards people checking your catch, I think they are university students
That's what i thought you meant, but when I saw the other comments, figured I was out to lunch.
If it's creel survey, they don't have to get in your boat.
