Lewmar Windlass

Anyone know where I could get a Lewmar Pro Series 1000 Windlass rebuilt or best option for parts? I would rather rebuild than replace if economical.

Thanks,

Is it binding up or it just stopped working?
It still operates in and out with no issue but it sounds like the motor may be giving up the ghost soon. Since I have it out I'd want to replace any other worn parts that may be wearing more so as PM.

There's a few good YouTube videos about them and the common failures. They are pretty simple to rebuild if you have basic tools and some mechanical ability.

Was curious to look this up, because I have a Lewmar. Looks like replacement motors can be bought and its doable to replace yourself. Maybe not the plan you like, but wait till it craters and replace the motor? Motor price is around 15% of total unit replacement value. I guess it would suck to have it fail in service, but also not the end of the world to crank up that anchor. Carry the spare motor just in case?
Also, i'm kind of skeptical that the failure would be the motor.

More likely the needle bearings inside the unit. Motors usually just fail completely... Motor is the last spare I would buy.

pm me,I had to replace the large drive gear as it went overboard one day, I had to buy the entire kit just to get the one part, the rest I have in storage and really do not need the parts.
