This year we had a case of 10 foot-itus and upgraded from my beloved DE166 that I had owned for 15 years and modded to the point of perfection.
She’s a 2008 Pursuit 255OS that started life as a freshwater boat out of Lake Michigan. Came with an aluminum I beam trailer with EOH disc brakes, Raymarine electronics and 470 hours on the twin 150’s. Previous owner maintained her with an open chequebook, and it was in mint condition. Not even a scratch on the original windows, and the canvas is still tight as a drum. First thing I did was replace both balancers to the latest version and have new cushions made for the cuddy. I have to say I’m really impressed with the build quality and the ride on this thing.
The ergonomics, and visibility, and the flush deck from helm to cockpit make it a breeze to fish solo if you have to. Had a great first season with her in Nootka, the Sunshine Coast, and locally around Vancouver.
Next seasons plan is to get her out for tuna in Bamfield.
