no moose or elk for me. :(

first time putting in, even put in for a draw with last years odds of 0.5:1, didnt win a thing.

Wife and I got drawn to hunt the elusive Nil. By the sounds of it that species is going to be under pressure.

5 hunters - 3 moose and 1 grizz in the Smithers area (Not prime area, but hopefully something) Also a couple of substitute grizz draws for North of the Skeena but probably won't take advantage of those ones)

Still haven't heard about my Saskatchewan whitetail though.

ZIP again 25 years now trying for island elk. no moose. the 15 or so i know only heard of 3 moose a grizz and a island elk for a lucky kid .....you think it was run by DFO??? LOL

Wolf

Actually it would be elk farms have transmitted CWD to the wild and the herd has been decimated.
You would think that after so many unsuccessful applications you would move to a higher priority as we do in Alberta.

No, if it was run by DFO the Elk would have been exterminated years ago in a commercial Dog Food hunt!

No surprise I missed on Island Elk - that's pretty well understood to be an annual "contribution". :(

Rather surprising I missed on Sheep and Mulies with very good odds... again

The one I should NOT have drawn (yet did) due to having pulled a tag last year in a biological desert (thus no success even with 4 locals and myself POUNDING it for 10 days) and so should have had my chances halved, and against high odds - moose.
Different area with a decent population - so a "maybe".

Gotta wonder how they are running things when this type of occurrence happens.

Now waiting on Alberta's draws with fingers crossed...

Cheers,
Nog
