Hey Labman, you're right however, because of the priority system in Alberta, my buddy and his son are pretty much guaranteed tags...... I'll be staying with them at his cabin for a week and cruising the cutlines in his Rhino with him................ I hope there is an abundance of grouse this year.............

Looks bad for Grouse again, too much rain this spring and where it didn't/isn't raining, we had fires!
I too have high (3-5) priorities this year on Cow Moose and Cow Elk.
I bought myself a Prowler for the same reason. (-;

Yeah, all the rain this year has me somewhat concerned....... My buddy's cabin is North of Athabasca howeve,r he did not have any problems with fire, thank God! We always hunted his area during the first week of Oct. when the rut is going on pretty strong up there. Love calling, just wish there were moose on the island.
Good luck Labman, with 3 - 5 priorities you should be guaranteed a draw......... I had the highest priority for 439 Trophy Sheep, moved to the Island and lost around 14 years worth of draws...........

Changing zones this year, applied for everything in the 332 zone west of Rimbey. A couple of buddies always seem to have good luck down there. I get Moose/Whitetails in my yard all the time, I'm in the Bow Zone on 5 acs. just east of Edmonton, but the wife won't let me whack one here. Have to put in for a draw and drive a couple hundred clicks &*^%&* $%%^&

Well im hoping we get them this year as you know for a lot of places last year it was a bust for alot of people including me 9 days never saw a moose saw more on the highway from vanderhoof to quesnel. wondering if this pine bettle is affecting more than just trees???
but still stoked for finally being able to go during the rut.....

we had a couple of big kills in Alberta that were due to Ticks, maybe that had a bearing on the population there?

Dont really want to say but in 20 plus years hunting up there have NEVER had a problem getting moose at all first time ever the past season. im in the pg area

same as always for me sfa, but the optimist got a bison draw and it starts rite after our deer trip ends good timing.

Hahaha......I hear ya. Was just curious roughly what area of the province; PG, Koots, 100 mile etc.
