Legendary Mark Pendlington Joins Westcoast Fishing Tackle Pro Staff!

He pretty much fishes Hardy Esperanza and Rivers mostly. All great areas I fish every year. I met him at Murphys lodge on the Stamp years ago. He was fly fishing for steelhead. I think that big jumper was on a fly at the south end of Calvert.

That jumper was on Truman point about 2 mi north of Safety Cove...
He fished a lot there over 2 seasons.
Although maybe overly "descriptive" sometimes, I really get a kick out of his enthusiasm and promotion of the sport.

lol love the guy!!! Shares all his knowledge with everyone. Over explains things !!! Just a fantastic ambassador for the sport !!! Love to go fishing with him. !!!

I wasn’t sure who Mike Mitchell was so I googled him. Turns out one summer we were both booked at the island west resort for the same few days. I don’t know if he thinks his “sheet” don’t stink but he does come across as a lot arrogant and seems he might think he’s gods gift to fish. For the whole three days I’d see him at the cleaning table, you gotta do this, you gotta do that, you gotta go here, you gotta go there. The fish that week were all 20-22lbs but there was lots of them. I’m no pro but the last day of our trip I caught a 25lb spring and an 18lb ling cod. Both on the inside just minutes outside the harbour mouth. They were both the biggest fish that week up to that point. I was good, when people asked where I caught them I told them. Mike didn’t have much to say that afternoon but when I caught his eye I could tell he knew, that I knew. He did have a nice boat though. Mark, I met a long time ago in 2007-08 and he was a genuine person that was easy to talk with and was pretty forthcoming with his information. He didn’t come across as the least bit arrogant and actually seemed quite humble to me. But maybe he’s different a decade and a half later

I have never met Mark, but I do appreciate how precise he tries to be and how much he tries new things/gear types to mix it up. As a former guide, he does seem to give the guide quite a bit of credit and voice when he is guided. The guides get time to show their rig ups and little tricks and explain the area, which you don’t get on other shows. I think he has a lot of respect for guides, again without knowing him.
