Leaking deck plates

Anyone have any fixes or recommends for screw in deck plates that don't leak horribly? I replaced a couple old ones with the ones with a rubber gasket but they leak like a sieve too.

Make sure the deck surface is flat and that the mounting screws aren't over tightened. The flanges can get deformed if the screws are too tight. May or may not be your issue, but those are problems I've seen.

I know they're a different style, but if you can get the Armstrong deck plates to work in your application, they're awesome. I've got three on my pod. They don't leak at all, ever.
