lol, I've taken to continuing to troll, as I find if you shut down or put it in neutral the buggers pick up on that. I just troll in big circles.. lol and hump them in. Not what I call fishing, but you do what works in any given situation.eman
I was out Monday 4 till 10pm. There were us and 12 other boats. No wind or waves. We got 3 undersize that we released gently back to the sea. Around 6:30 I hit a large fish that swam over the other line and got tangled severely. Thought it was a double header until the other flasher broke the surface. What a mess. We started talking about the game plan for untangling and the fish decided it wanted no part of this and swam away breaking my 40# leader. I’m not sure what it was but my guess would be a large hali. If any one picks her up please return my coyote spoon back to me. GLG
Hey GLG-- funny you should mention a halibut. I was out off of Kitty monday morning!! Bumpy ride in my buddies boat , but managageble.
Total into the boat-- one grey cod!! My buddie had a large fish on that wasnt fighting like a salmon-- but he immediately said it felt like a butt. We never got to find out-- it got sealed. We tried to chase it down, but the leader finally gave up.
The tide was really ripping, so we had to deal with a couple of tangles, just to rub it in.
Getting an occasional butt off Seal Bat/Kitty Coleman seems to be getting more frequent these days. I know one guy that deliberately trolls big plugs along the bottom for them. He catches 3 or 4 a year.
